I love pictures. So many life experiences and memories captured…sometimes I think I take too many ( is that even possible?) I need to get a t-shirt I found that says, pathological picture taker. For real. My pictures aren’t the … Continue reading →
Let me just explain one thing before I start explaining what I am posting.
For one, I am in no way a good seamstress. I took a few classes in my beginning stages of high school & stopped after that. Not because I didn’t enjoy it but because I just didn’t keep up with it. I started sewing a few things here and there recently and now I realize…when I have time…that I want to keep up with some few projects I have in mind.
There ya have it. Had to just explain that before I move forward. So, yes. The car seat canopy. First of all, I never see these out and about around where we are from. Only when I am at my church, is when I see them. I was slightly confused I remember when I saw it. Some lovely mama while back was carrying something with fabric over something large and I thought, what the heck is being suffocated underneath that? All the sudden, some of that fabric was pulled back and there was a baby…sleeping soundly in the carseat. Then it all came together. What a smart idea! I never made or had one with our first child, but now…oh yes, forgot to mention somewhere in this blog, we are expecting #2 this spring (hooray!!!), I thought I should try this out and make one. For one, it seems as though it would be nice and cozy. Two, keeps random strangers away for wanting to come touch your little ones faces. Cover those little babes right up and hopefully no one will try opening it. (Is it acceptable to somewhat lightly tap some strangers hand you don’t know if there is an attempt? Just wondering. Not that I would…well, maybe).
What do you all think? I still feel like I may be suffocating my child but I do like the idea of this. I am assuming you all have heard of Pinterest. If you haven’t…well, I don’t know what to say to you then. It’s not good. I found this girls blog on there & a pretty simple tutorial. So first off, thank you Pinterest for directing me & secondly and most importantly, thank you to Creatively Christy! ( very fun blog if you ask me).
I will leave the directions all credited clearly to her. Click on the link, go check that out!
Well, I couldn’t post this one earlier in fear of my husband seeing this post somehow. Only because it was part of his Father’s Day gift and in some way shape or form he would find out. But thank goodness, this was a sweet little surprise for him.
I first want to give a shout out to this awesome blog called Oh Happy Day. Super super cute blog. From party ideas, templates you can download for free, invite ideas, DIY home decor…oh my. You just need to check it out. Seriously. I stumbled upon this and saw this idea and it was awesome. I loved it. My husband loved it, and my little boy loved helping me put it together (mainly because it involved food)- It was different from what we have done in the past so that’s why I wanted to do this too.
So, highly recommend doing this. It doesn’t necessarily have to be for Father’s Day, but just to give out the idea to you all. I do have the original idea linked to the name of the blog if you want to get the printables and what not. One thing, I did add something on my own….
That lollipop. You can steal that idea, I felt kinda clever…not gonna lie. It is a true statement however, so that’s why it was perfect. I unfortunately don’t have the template, but I will post it if you all are interested. But hope all you awesome Father’s, soon to be dads, Grandpas had a relaxing Father’s Day yourselves!
Happy Memorial Day Weekend ya’ll! Just wanted to get this post in before the festivities begin in honoring our amazing veterans who has served and are serving for our country. I am indeed grateful for you all doing so.
So, I am starting a DIY page now. Whoop- I am excited! Hopefully I’ll be getting more posted soon but as of now, wanted to share something coming soon. I’ll have step by steps posted for this awesome headboard we made for our bedroom.
I love reclaimed wood- you’ll probably see lots coming soon of that. So quick story of our headboard- my husbands grandmother had this wood laying around that was from steps to her patio. (HOW AWESOME)!! Well, we can’t let that lay around. So this is what we came up with. My husband & my father-in-law put their brains together. Brilliant! We love it.
I have been wanting to paint or draw or something lately…not that I’m the greatest I’ve just had the itch to do it. I also have been wanting to make some fun and easy Easter decor for our home, but nothing that was too crazy that screams Easter! I saw this idea from a wonderful blog named Saved By Loves Creations . Her original was on wooden pallets, hung on the wall.
If you know me by now, we have lots of old wood crates so I decided to take a different route and do this on a canvas ( which will go inside of one of the wooden crates hanging on the wall…) I loved the simpleness of it and the touch of Easter it is too. Here is the best part…it’s super easy…it will blow your mind.
Here’s all you need.
– acrylic paint
– Bunny cut out
( that’s for how I did it)
Tape the cut out of the Bunny and stick it onto the canvas and paint around it. Wait to dry and pull the cut out back then wahlah.!
If you want the wooden pallet, click on the link about and you’ll have that tutorial.
We had a birthday party a few weeks ago and I can’t believe how fast time flies! My kid is loving trucks right now, especially dump trucks, garabage trucks, tractors you name it. I wanted to post a few pics for you guys if you’re looking for ideas if you need any, or even if your friend or relative does too! It’s nothing too exciting but I always love seeing other peoples ideas! Hope this helps
I love spring and I cannot wait for it! I made this cute burlap wreath and wanted to share. Burlap lately has been quite the thing and you can do so much with it. My father-in-law had a bunch of burlap coffee bags that I used, which was awesome I might add. You can ask your local coffee shops possibly if they sell or have them?? Check out Amy All In A Day to see her cute tutorials. This is where I got my lovely idea!
